We were lucky enough to have the chance to go fishing with Curtis Palmer from River Secrets Guide Service (www.riversecrets.com). We fished the North Umpqua for big native steelhead and were not disappointed!! Let me tell you this guy knows his river!!

Curtis fishes the Umpqua, Rogue, Chetco, Elk and Sixes Rivers. But I bet if you were to ask him what his favorite is it would be Steelhead from the North Umpqua River! The fish in the North Umpqua system are big, fat and incredibly strong. Curtis grew up on the North Umpqua and knows the river like the back of his hand and if there are any fish around he will put you on them. Curtis also fishes for Spring and Fall Chinook Salmon as well as Summer Steelhead and Coho Salmon. If you want to hook multiple giant steelhead then Curtis is your man. The North Umpqua gets a very strong run of monster native steelhead that can be twenty plus pounds and the average fish is right around twelve to thirteen pounds!! These are very thick acrobatic chromers.

Thanks for checking out this Guided Fishing Episode and if you have any questions for Curtis or want to book a trip you can contact him below, be sure to mention that you saw his video on Steelhead Stalkers.
