We were invited to go fish the Umpqua with Joel from talkfishin and jumped on the opportunity to fish this beautiful river. There are some big fish that get caught out of the Umpqua and there is a strong run of natives so far this year. We were there when the water was still a little high, around 6.5ft, optimal is around 4ft for a drift boat but still fishable. It was freezing outside and I think Daniel lost all feeling in his hands by 10:00am :) What a beautiful river and we will definitely be back to try for one of those 20+ lb native steelhead!!!
